KARSHANGAMCommonly known as FAIZABAD Anantnag is 21 km far from karshangam jamia masjid Faizabad is Centrally located Masjid in Karshangam, there is also a hindu Temple in karshangam. Jamia Masjid Faizabad, Chicken Pora ,Bonapora, Goripora,Chopan Pora Bandpora,Babpora and Adkhara are Mohallas/ Pattis of karshangam.
Total population of Karshangam Village is 1495 which include 775 Males and 720 Females. Which is 17% increased after Census 2011 population 1321, 661 males and 660 Females as per Census 2011 population register.Out of this population there are 1094 Voters comprising 552 Male and 542 female voters. Actually the village is Locally Named as Faizabad owing to Which grand Masque named as JAMIA MASJID FAIZABAD (KARSHANGAM).
Karshangam has six Masques as Jamia Masjid Faizabad Karshangam, Masjid Shareef Chiken pora, Masjid Shareef Bona pora, Masjid Shareef Babapora, Masjid Shareef Adikher,Masjid Shareef Goripora, Masjid Shareef Bandpora. A Government health care centre is also available in Karshangam Health and wellness centre (sub Centre Karshangam under kind control of Block Medical Officer Mattan) Animal Husbandry Centre is also located in the village under control of Chief Husbandry Officer Anantnag. There are three Government Schools in this village Government Middle School Karshangam Government Primary School Chicken Pora Government Primary School Bandapora all Schools are under the administrative Control of Zonal Education Officer Aishmuqam. Bank facility not available in the village however Khidmat Center has been established very recently, Bank facility is available at 3.5 km distance, post office services are not yet available, no High School,no patwari Khana,no fire and emergency post,no police post , no parks or playground is yet developed in the village.
