Raebareli is a district in the state of Uttar Pradesh. The district headquarters are situated at Raebareli Town. It forms part of the Lucknow division. It is a municipal board as well as the district headquarters of the Raebareli district. The town is situated at the bank of River Sai. It is 82 kilometers from Lucknow. The place has many architectural features. The Fort of 1403 is the most prominent one. The palace and tomb of Nawab Jahan Khanand four fine mosques are other prominent monuments. The most important town within the district is Lalganj which is the proposed site for the Railway Coach Factory. The construction of the factory has already started. It is going to be economically beneficial to the region. Hindi and Awadhi are the major languages spoken. Hindi is the official language of the district. A large number of Hindus are present. Muslims and Sikhs also occupy a large portion of the population. The minority population is taken by Christians and Jains.
