Goddess named Maa Thanapati was found from a POND situated at MOHAPATRA SAHI , According to this the village is called DEBATAGADIA (i.e Pond of God).About 95% of the villagers are Farmer. Most important thing was the village is adjoining to the Hanuman Jew Stadium, where All India Pradeep Memorial Cricket Tournaments are organised by Tillo Athletic Association (TAA) since 1993. There are so many festivals are celebrated like AKSHAYA BABA GOD IS WORSHIPED, RAM NAVAMI near RAM TEMPLE OF MOHAPATRA SAHI, HANUMAN JAYANTI of SWAIN SAHI, JAGAR PUJA at PANCHKESWR SIVA TEMPLE near POKHARI ADI , RAJA SANKRANTI of JENA SAHI and MAKAR SANKRANTI of MOHAPATRA SAHI and near SONA MONHI. GANESH PUJA by the youths and SATSANG OF SHREE SHREE THAKUR ANKUL CHANDRA in different residence. DEBATAGADIA M.E. School, & MAA TARINI HIGH SCHOOL established with the selfless effort of MR TARAKESWAR MOHAPATRA SIR along with MR SRUJATI KRUSHNA BEHERA SIR and MR NITYANANDA SAMAL SIR. The U.P. SCOOL of Debatagadia was established by the forgotten hero of Debatagadia MR KURTIBASA MOHAPATRA the grand father of Mr Tarakeswar Mohapatra( mentioned by renowned person of Debatagadhia MR MOHAN CHARAN OJHA). The idea of establishing of M.E School and HIGH School first suggested by LATE MR BIMBADHAR JENA of JENA sahi. Other renowned person helped in formation of those instituation are Mr Gadadhar Sahoo, Mr Gajendra Sahoo.
