Bahadur Nagar is supposedly established by the warrior clan of Rajasthan during the 18th century. Though no such historical data is available, people say the SAMALS of Bahadurnagar were earlier known as the SASHAN MALLAS  means the warriors of administration. Situated on the banks of river the Birupa- a tributary of the Mahanadi,the village BAHADURNAGAR stretches from the west to the East.The entrance to the village changed after 1868 when the Pattamundai canal embankment was constructed. Now one can enter into the village from the Southern direction from the Pattamundai canal road. One can reach Bahadurnagar village in Charinangal GramPanchayat by road. It is only two and half km away from Balichandrapur- the Police Station and market place adjacent to the National Highway(5). The village is known for its past valor,educated and enlightened villagers. Top bureaucrats, educationists,writers, popular broadcaster, NRI scientists-doctors and technocrats hail from this village. The dominant cast in the village are the Kshatriyas / khandayats bearing the surname of Samal. Mahajan Sahi is the place of royal families of the village. The remarkable sahis are Dafadar Sahi, Tala sahi and Dolia sahi .
