People usually visit to this place to see Mirugandam Dam. Which is quite small but contain 1000 tons for water storage during winter season. The village is surrounded with Forest trees which makes place clean and fresh air during day and night. Many people came and research the place for seeing the natural calamity. Resource is fully Agricultural. But maximum people shifted to city to look after better job, Since there is no water storage in tunnel. But Even though people are still cultivating and harvesting. 

Lawrence Provisional Store is famous for its all types of general products. It is the oldest shop in Veeralur. It is said that MS SUSAI the Indian Army Guy who has fight for Kargil war and also been a guard for Indhra Gandhi known by the people around.

Place is also famous for St. Antony Church which is one of the famous church in surrounding place like Polur, Thiruvanamallai and Chengum. The jubilation with the Relic Visit of Don Bosco during 14th Nov 2011 people from many places came for this event.
