Vandalampadu is a small village now which was originated from a historical town called as palaya oor.Three hundred years ago , the pallayur was destroyed and houses were demolished by natural disaster. People were found to be deseased, frequently fell into sick and died. Day by day, it was increasing , they were not able to live any more in that particular location.More than , three hundred houses were there as reported by Mr.Santhana Marian and Silvai Ammal from Mr.maria Nadar eldest inheritance.Late Mr. Marian Nadar grant parents moved , and relocated near by place which is now called valan nagar or vandalampadu. others were moved to kallikulam, Mulakkadu, kavelkinarru and near by villages.There was also a belief , says that people were disturbed by magics and evil spirit.As the nature of occupation was palm tree climbers , collecting palm water and making Karuppati.On daily basis merchant will come from a neibhouring palce called samugarenga puram.He had fallen love with one lady who did not like his behaviour.She disagreed his will.so she started to beat him with broom stick. So he got agree with her , in turn, he made an (AAVAL)and destroyed the village through evil spirit.people who live now have some of the antiques as an evidence of old vandalampadu.Late Mr. Marian is the first catechist of the village where the prayer were held in his house. He had a bell always.His follower was Mr. Asirvathem his eleventh son.Mr. Marian inherited 12 children as Jacob in the old testament.Later on , the church was built named st.Joseph church. Mrs. Jesu Mariammal Bsc(N) MBA HA.was the first catechist followed by Mr. Anna Marian MSc.Mr.Jesu Mariammal is the the first lady who attained her master degree and Mr. anna Marian is the first man who attained his masters.Nature of the people are as one family with multiple disputes.Highly educated compare to the number of houses.
