Perlapu is a small locality in Kadeshwalya village. Kadeshwalya is an interior village you will find when you travel from Mani to Uppinangadi in Mangalore-Bangalore highway. In a place called Budoli you have to take a left turn from the highway and that small road will lead to Laxmi narasimha temple at Kadeshwalya. In that road you get a school and that is called Kadeshwalya school. That locality is called Perlapu. Historically around 100 years back there was a person named PERI (a Catholic) who was doing cultivation in that locality. He was growing vegetables in that locality and it was his BALAPPU (cultivation land with proper boundary, called as balappu in local language tulu).As years passed that locality was continued to be called as Peri balappu, even after Peri's death. Hence the name shortly, Perlapu
