PUNNU was a Muslim landlord of village Malout before partition and after partition 2 more villages Bhagwanpura and Karamgarh were carved out from village Malout. PUNNU KHERA was named by local residents on the name of PUNNU Muslim landlord. This village is my birth place. All jat Sikh and kamboj community migrated from Pakistan after partition . Late Sardar HARSA SINGH of this village was very popular personality of this area who served in Cooperative Marketing Society of Malout for many years and expired in 1975.
