Rangapura located towards north of Sira 4 miles away, the bus stand is named as kotta gate (kotta is neighbouring village of it. bt stand belongs to Rangapura itself) ,, this is the stand for Rangapura, Rangapura gollaratti, Rangapura dinne hatte, adaluru , chikkanakote, kotta and mustigara halli, here the road divides into two part 1. amarapura road( goes to pavagada ,darampura, hiriyur)2.agali road( goes to madakasira from bargur)comes to people living:- Rangapura have a historical fort called rangadama kote, inside this the people living in a group100 years ago , later before 20 years all moved to a nearest outside of fort , bt nw people living in there agricultural lands, come to gowdas:-the gowda lived in rangapura is vokkaliga kunchitiga, the people who lived in Rangapura are voddaru, gowda was punishing them by destroying there agricultural crops, they scared abt that and moved to 2 km away place that place is called as voddarahatti now, the people who living in voddarahatti were kunchitigas they gave there land to them and acquired land in Rangapura and started living there , made there home in fort, then later his one of successer generation man didn't have son, he had two daughter , one of his sisters son was present in his home, the gowda gave the gowdas administration to his son-in- law , his name is doddayya, he was very sincere to his father- in law and always respected him, after gowdas death he moved to his fathers village kotta for working as farmer because his fathers land is in kotta,as his father village is neighbouring village kotta,he settled there, his successor is ra, who are nw present, they are the gowdas of entire 16 villages neighbouring, the guddada ranganatha Swamy jaatra will be held in there hands near kallukotecome to legend of Rangapura:-the fort was the oldest one which is dimilishing now, inside it srinivasa temple was there , now temple has fallen down and the gods vigraha not there , but we can see pillar , earlier the pujaris of temple are kunchitiga jaladinaru, BT now no one is worshipping because someone stolen vigraha, some people says the gold armaments are kept in pots and kept in fort and butappatemple near, legend said by older people states that the palegara rangadama ruled once upon a time , there was a clash between oppent and him , oppenent cheated him while sleeping he took him out of the village by smell sensing sleeping chemicals , he cut rañgadamas head at kotta ,kept head there and bought back his body to Rangapura, now at his killed place the people made a temple rangadama to honour him, about fort:- someone says it belongs to nolambas who ruled hemavathi near madakasira , but the real history was not known, no one. is worried about this historical village , no efforts are made for that, but when we go back nearly. 50 years ago ,a contractor man took reconstruction of yallappana katte near butappa god, during construction he got a clay pot, when he opened that he found pot full of gold and silver ornaments like Shanka chakra and jewels, this means this is belonging to venkatesjwara god, but contracter took away all, any how no one is worrieng about the history of the fort and historical village, the fort god went somewhere hence people are poor in wealth compare to neighbouring village , god is also not there to look after people, hence no god temple in that village other than butapp( a god of kari), gramadevathe maaramma is also not worshipping by anyone,so history had forgotten, people not bothering , if someone finds the real history then it will be happier to villagers about there birth place history and neighbour villages for having historical neighbouring villages
