Bulgam is situated at about 40 km from srinagar city and about 8 km from sopore town. The people of this village are mainly associated with Apple production and apple business. This village is situated on the left edge of national highway srinagar muzaffarabad road It is suurounded by national highway on the eastern side and is surrounded by village chandkote on the western side. On the northern side the village touches the boundary of neighboring village Choora while on the south western side the village is blessed with a beautiful hilltop range where the Sufi saint namely Jinab Syed Akmal-ud-din Bukhari is resting in eternal peace. The tomb of this great Sufi saint is remarkable and has a historical significance which dates back to 16the century when he came from Persia modern dayday Iran to preach people here the teachings of Islam. As a matter of fact and to express solidarity and to kept the memories and teachings of this great Persian Islamic saint people of this village celebrate 13th and 14 the of July every year as a solidarity day so as to kept the memories of this Sufi lord alive for ever. People from all over valley and country assemble on these days and offer prayers and sacrifices to refresh the attributed great service of this Sufi saint
Bulgam is 7 km from sopore town and comprises of 5 mohallas Of which 1 Dangerpora (100 houses) 2. Warepora (50 houses) 3.hissipora(50 houses) 4. Wani mohalla A (25 houses) and 5 kawja wani mohalla (15 houses)Amongst 5 mohallas fifth one I.e Khawja wani mohalla is the most descent and well cultured well educated well qualified highly professional comprised of Doctors, Engineers, Bank Managers, Professors, N R K 'S (non resident kashmiris) and high business menmen and has a unique citi life culture.
