About and History Of Kasabad

Kasabad is situated on the bank of satluj river  Its name came from some mr Kasim. 'may be Meer kasim. All the    neighbouring villages  namely ,Bhadurke,Noorwala,Jamalpur,Kutubewal,Kadian were all inhabited by muslim people who migrated to pakistan during partition.There are only a few Harijan families who lived with the Muslims before partition.They too came here during British rule from Kahma village in teh banga. All others have come here as a result of rehabilitation after partition. Now this village is inhabited,mainly by Jatt's,Rajput's and Harijan's there is only three families of Chauhan Gujjar's and one of Khatri's   and few families of Majhabi sikhs and a few Christians . This village had always faced  floods'The last one came in the year  1987.There are two seperate gurudwara's for Jat's andHharijans,two Mandirs'two Majaars of Peer Baba .Every year in the month of May a big carnival takes place at the majaar's.
