Pothikulam Yathavar Kudiyiruppu people was part of Pothikulam village till 200 years back. After that Yathavar (konar) community people move to their cultivation land just 100 meters away from Pothikulam village where they used to have their cattle and goat. The village people mostly used to have goats for their lively wood till 70 years back, people start to give importance to education, now mostly all the people are educated who occupy high post in government jobs like Police department, administrative department and HOD in Theayarajar college and many in IT and other private jobs.
