Lokapur is a medium sized village located in Pindra Tehsil of Varanasi district, Uttar Pradesh with population 1052 (549 males and 503 females) residing in 173 houses . Most people in the village are educated and has higher literacy rate compared to Uttar Pradesh. In 2011, literacy rate of Lokapur village was 77.25 % compared to 67.68 % of Uttar Pradesh. Male literacy stands at 87.76 % while female literacy rate is 65.83 %. Subedar Sheo Jagat Pandey, Bahadur, OBI, was first man who had received Gold, Silver, and Bronze medals in British Period. Dr Manbodh Pandey (Hindi), Dr Rakesh Kumar Pandey (Physics), Dr Basant Kumar Pandey (Hindi), and Dr Ashish Kumar Pandey (Chemical Engineering) are highly qualified persons other than many Post Graduates and Graduates in Arts, Science, Engineering, Medical, etc. Rashika Pandey is first ever female to obtain B. Tech. degree from NIT and first female Graduate Engineer. Nearly ten persons join the different sector of defense services and have shown their patriotism.
