There is not any clue found by now about the meaning of Name of village, some times out of curiosity,i have tried to ask something of this village from elders,but they just said how was this village during the British Empower. Before 70-80 years there was around 1 or 2 families were staying here in kevdi location. There was very thick forest, full with wild animals i.e Tigers, Leopards, Dear, Rabbit, wild Pig etc. i have heard saying my father that when he was kid he was able to hear the roar of Tiger from home and he can find the wild animal just in range of one kilometre.
Few of elders said that they have attended the meetings of Mahatama Gandhi, during the freedom fight, whenever they had heard that Gandhiji is going to visit near by place, they have gone there to see Mahatama Gandhi.
The influence of Christianity has played major role in development of this village, i.e Education, Health, Land development,Etc. But still village community observe the faith of tribal symbolic god i.e. Tiger (Vagh dev), god of greenery (Nandurvo dev) etc.
Kevadi is a revenue village, all most ever villagers occupied with agriculture, animal husbandry, and daily labor work. There will be approx 55-60 % literacy rate is there. there is approx 5% of seasonal migration to near by city or companies.
This village is surrounded by beautiful Jungle( Forest), and has one dam, and 10 Kilo meter away there is well khown river Tapi. Recently this village is being develop as Eco- tourism village.

Thanks for your interest in looking for my very own Village Kevdi, its a remote tribal village, near Mandvi Town. Surrounded with beautiful hills and forest. Its more attractive in the season of monsoon and winter, summer seems little tired some reaching to Camp site but anyway if you really wise to visit this place you can visit any season. When you enter for village, there is kachha road but still your car or bike will help you to reach out there. It is my advise to carry your food and basic requirement with you.you can stay here for night but you need to have prior booking for A/C. Non a/c room or campsite tent
