My name is Chandra Shekar Aravala,Physical Therapist working in Daviess Community Hospital Indiana,USA.I am a Gold medalist from Dr.APJ Abdul Kalam as a best Physiotherapy student.Pothayyavalasa is my native village in other words i am a product of Pothayyavalasa village.There is only one school in Pothayyavalasa village from first grade to fifth grade.For the high school they have to go to makivalasa which is nearby village,it is about 2-3 kms now there is a road previously students use to walk through the fields and it is horrible and reduced safety when it rains.Thank God there is a road now and the local roads in pothayyavalasa village have improved a lot under the leadership of my mother who happens to be the sarpanch of the village,Mrs.Aravala Sarojini.Literacy rate has improved remarkably in this village.Previously handful of people used to clear 10th class and now we are getting state ranks from this tiny village.There is lot of potential in the students of this village,just need government support and encouragement in the form of scholarships to tap their potential.There are good teachers in this village. There is also improved drinking water facility in the village due to construction of a tank.The panchayat office building have been renovated.Toilets have been constructed thanks to Prime minister Narendra Modi.Lots of trees are being planted thanks to CM Narachandra Babu Naiu for neeru meeru program. Temples in Pothayyavalasa village are Shivalayam.Satyasai baba temple built by collecting the donations from villagers.several Gramadevatas.There is big peepal tree comparable to pillalamarri(Mehaboobnagar district),i dont know how old that is,it is worshipped as Asirithalli.Special pooja is done on tuesday and every year a big jatara is conducted called as Ammavari panduga.Close to the Asirithalli is Neelamma temple it newly constructed,there is a Jaganadh temple in there also. Cashew farms is the main crop starts in around feb-march and ends in May,During this period schools have holidays and the whole village is very busy.Rice fields are common fro June onwards with harvest during Makara Sankranthi.Apart from this two people also grow pesalu,minimulu,sugarcane etc. Favourite sport is cricket,This village is the local champion.You will find upcoming Sachin tendulkars and sehwags on the street.Local Akharas for weightlifting,there are track and field athletes too.Edit below overview about Pothayyavalasa
