Dar is a village at the mouth of darma valley. a jeep track connects it to the road head at sobala.The village itself is lodged on the slope of a hill.There are a number of places of interest in the village like the sulphur springs ,grazing pastures ,rugged peaks etc.The village is made up of a number of clusters of houses, each having a separate entity as a rath (form of clan),namely, KAMANG,SHERONG,KHOKTI,CHENGTI,KHASHING and KARTO. Apart from the KAMANG rath the bal of the population are original residents of dar the KAMANG families are believed to be originaly from pithoragarh.All the residents belong to the rung community and use the surname dariyal .The village also has a small non tribal community .The village has the honour of producing the very first PCS officer in the entire community among the three valleys of dharchula teh.It has also produced some very prominent teachers in the region .the village has had its share in producing its doctors and engineers.Edit below overview about Dar
