This village was established by Sardar Jaswnt Singh of 'Singhpuria Misl, who after occupying Barwala came here Later Sardar Tara Singh built a Fort which still exists. Later Sardar Bhagwant Singh [Died in 1960] was a jagirdar and given the title of 'Sardar Bahadur' by British Government was also nominated Honrary Magistrate by The Authorities, was a prominent figure at high level. Later his three sons namely Teja Singh, Shamsher Singh and Rup Singh ruined the status of Bhareli Estate by fighting long legal battle. Presently Gursharan Singh and his son Jaideep Singh Virk is trying to restore and bring back grandeur of Bhareli Fort. Villagers are giving full sport and back up in this venture.

Thje facts about the Fort of Bhareli are only partly correct. The factual positipon is as follows:

After the partition, I shifted to Bhareli in 1948 and remained there till 1960. I know much more about Bhareli, particularly the FORT OF BHARELI then owned by Sardar Bahadur Bhagwant Singh. Presently, I am 82 years of age. My family lives partly in India(Delhi) and partly in Australia.

I know much more about the Fort of Bhareli than the author or any one else in Bhareli and can narrate much more - a full CHAPTER OF MY BOOK - SHELTER OF THE GOLDEN ROSEWOOD written by me and can share the complete information from 1948 to 1960 whenever contacted.
