Thanapada is a great historical village surrounded by hills having a historical fort known as khairai killa. This village has its own identity due to mix population of adivasi and muslim community living together since last many decades.previously this village was the main market place in the vicinity but afterwards this market is developed in the nearby village,Harsul.
At about 15 k.m.Towards its northern side an old DAWALESHWAR temple is located at the bank of Daman river,this river is a larger river in the vicinity which devide both Maharashtra and Gujrat State.This location is well kwon as a natural picnic spot one can enjoy swimming in this river. Specially in rainy season this area spreads its Natural beauty.It must be noted here that, there is no single hotel or restaurant facility is available at this place.However small restaurants and hotels are available at nearby village Harsul.
Thanapada is having its own identity because of its very old primary Marathi school.the school building is having its vintage look and since many decades the construction of the said school is in intact position.May of the ex. students from this school are now well qualified and are serving on different important post of govt.This school has produced many great personalities in the past and the process is yet in progress.

Thanapada is around 58 k.m. away from Nashik city,one can easily go by bus from old CBS stand or by taxi from Shalimar square, Nashik.
