Diwana Kala Panchayat: Diwana Kala Panchayat lies at the core of the holy region of Mathura and Vrindavan, famous for its spiritual heritage. The panchayat comprises five villages: Diwana Kala, Diwana Khurd, Siriya ki Nagariya, Doodhadhari, and Ghodharpur. Diwana Khurd is the most populous, while Ghodharpur has the smallest population. This cluster embodies a vibrant tapestry of cultures, with residents hailing from varied religious, caste, and economic backgrounds. Notably, leadership in the panchayat has rotated among all five villages, as each has elected a sarpanch (pradhan) at least once. This democratic tradition highlights the unity and inclusiveness of our panchayat. Education is a priority here. Our community hosts pre-primary and primary schools, complemented by an inter college dedicated to girls education. A new primary healthcare hospital, built in 2025, now serves the health needs of local residents efficiently. The spirit of harmony defines daily life. People from all villages coexist peacefully, and while individual conflicts may arise, there is no inter-village discord. The community mindset is generally conservative, with a strong preference for stable jobs in government, administration, and politics. Entrepreneurship, freelancing, and creative careers are rare, though the village boasts individuals serving in judiciary, medical, administration, armed forces and other esteemed fields. Almost every family is directly or indirectly connected to agriculture, reflecting the enduring importance of farming in the local economy. Infrastructure is developing. Most roads are paved, but waterlogging remains a challenge during heavy rains. Central to community life in Diwana Kala is the Amrit Sarovara tranquil pond ringed by jogging tracks, leafy trees, and benches, offering a perfect spot for relaxation amid nature. Cultural traditions are cherished and celebrated with joy. Major festivals such as Diwali, Holi, Raksha Bandhan, Bhai Dooj, Teej, Krishna Janmashtami, Maha Shivratri, and Eid are observed with enthusiasm. Holi is especially distinctive; during Lathmar Holi at Pathwari Mayya (the village deitys temple), women playfully strike men with bamboo sticks as the crowd sings folk songs and exchanges sweets. This event epitomizes the colorful spirit of our community. Caste-based discrimination, while present to a minimal extent, does not prevent meaningful social integration. Members of so-called lower castes are invited to upper-caste events and are welcome in all temples, although separate arrangements are often made for different groups. The village is equipped with essential shops such as grocery stores, medical shops, cybercafes, hair salons, fertilizer suppliers, liquor stores, and garment shops. Though there are no restaurants within the panchayat, residents frequently travel to roads connecting Mathura-Vrindavan and Mathura-Aligarh for popular snacks. Diwana Kala is a harmonious blend of tradition, culture, and progressa panchayat that values its roots while embracing the promise of tomorrow.
