Ghandawa is a small village in Surajgarh tehsil of Jhunjhunu district in Rajasthan. It is 37 KMs away from district headquarter Jhunjhunu. It is around 6 KMs away from Chirawa city which is a major town and trading centre of the district. Nearby villages are Bigodana, Bhobia, Deoroad, Brahmano ki Dhani, Shyalu, Sehi Kala, Jeeni etc. It is connected through village road with Chirawa town. Village has school upto 10th standard. It has gram panchayat office and one small hospital of Rajasthan Govt. Main population of the village is from Jat community consisting of Kothari and Jakhar gotras. Village has people of several communities and all live in a great harmony. Village is quite peaceful and main livelihood of village is dependent on Agriculture. Most of the villagers are farmers. Some people of village are employed as teachers, nurses, soldiers, navy personnel and in airforce. Main crops of the village are Wheat, Bajra, Grams and Mung. Irrigation is through borewells through sprinklers. Village falls under dark zone declared by Central Water Commission as water table in the village and surrounding villages has drastically reduced. Many persons of village are serving in Indian Army protecting the borders of the country. One person of village Shri Satyavir has sacrificed his life while serving in army and has got martyrdom.Village sees exteme temperatures ranging between zero degree celcius in winters to 49 degree celcius in summers.
