The acient name of okari is vissnupur.
The lord visnu is depicted in the revunue map .it is revuneu villege
"visunpur" "bokri" .bokari in farsi used in stead
of okari.the word okari is derived from the word omkari. In ancient time the gret maharshi whom people called him omkari
baba.who alwayscalled om om om.
After his pious departure the people added his name after visnupur omkari
in the long run the letter m is driven and the villege got his short name
okari.. In aaine akabari this villege has got
place for his heroic deeds in the struggle of independence known
for 1857revolution. This villege was known as pragana.
This village was famous for bheluriya garh. Situated on the highland on the bank of river phalgu dominated by bhelauriya zamindars.
In course of time these zamindar become issuless and he doneted his zamindari of six hundred villages to his 4 maternal sons of chourum(u.p).
I this way chouriar bhumihar brahaman settled in these villages. Okari, charui, dhowri, surdaspur, oana and ginji.
Many ancient things stone tablets,pillers,statue, present its old history.
Okari has old lord vishnu temple tells its old history. It has twenty five bighas cultivation land.
