OverView of Somasundara Palem

Somasundara Palem village name came from One Somasundaramma Grama Devatha.  Somasundaramma Thalli in Kattevaram Village. This village was established above more than 125 years ago. In this village most of the population near about 90% GOWDA Community that too near about only one family brachces of Vaka Muthyalu who hailed from Kaithepally (Near Repalle, Guntur District) as per the information revealed by the village elders and senior citizens of this village one of Sri Vaka Venkateswarlu S/o late Muthyalu & Vaka Pedda Ragavalu S/o Late Chinna Thirupathaiah. At the time foundation of this village there is no bridge on canal and there is no houses in this are. These lands are Agricultural lands and rearing cattle. One Vaka Muthyalu has came to here has maid servent from Kaithepally due to their village disputes. He is having Five (5) daughters Seven (7) Sons i.e., namely Balakotaiah, Ankamma, Pullaiah, Nagaiah, Pothu Raju and two another(Names not known to me).  Now the most of people are their kith and kin.  Upto 1980 most of the houses are tatched houses except few houses. Now seen is reversed, most of the houses are RCC and few houses only tatched. Prior to the 1980 there are Roads very warrest, Street lights also not proper.  Earlier this village under the control of Kattevaram Gram Panchayat.  Later it was separeted by late Yarramuthi Venkaiah & his team. Now, presently wideren CC & Damber Roards and very good street lights look like a town.

As per my knowledge prior to 1988 there is no single graduate from this village.  First graduates from this village One Morla Durga Prasada Rao presently practising an advocate in High Court of A.P., Hyderabad another one Sonti Achuta Ramaiah are in the year 1988. Then 1989 One Vaka Siva Sankara Rao is next graduate.  Then onwards there is competition started on education. Now, almost all 150 to 170 persons are in graduates in this village like engineering, Pharmacy, Ayruvedic, MCA, MBA etc., but there is no single graduate vote from this village for costing the vote to MLC etc, Our village having Primary Elementary School upto 5^th Class now and then also.  Now our population near about 2000.  Even though there is no upgradation of the our primary elementary school. 

At that period  they have to established one Ramulavari Temple, later it was renuated, but not proper way. Due to the reason, presently some of the people are come forwarded for renuation of the Ramalyam.  Apart from that One Sree Veeranjanya Swamy temple is there inside the brige.  Outside the bride one Sivalayam and Kanka Durga Ammavari Temple is there.This village special is ‘Ganganamma Kolupulu’ shall do the Karthika Masam. 

This village is very peaceful village and their lively wood is mainly milk & Coconut business.  Very good water sources like canal as well as ground water with in 10 feet only, sweet water for drinking purpose. Their expenses is village expenses and income sources is Urban revenue due to the reason this village situated within 2 K.Ms. from Tenali Town.  Moreover very nearer to VSR & NVR College, Engineering college, BUS and Railway Stations, even compare with the Tenali Town people.  Because of this reason this village lands are very high cost due to the prime area. Due to the shortage of the lands and drastic development from Tenali to Vijayawada route.

 Westside                              : Canal and State High Way of Tenali to Vijayawada.

Southside                             : Tenali Town popularly known as Andhra Paris.

Northside                             :Auto Nagar Well developed area.

Eastside                                 : Agricultural Lands.
