OverView of Amaur Nagla Jiwan

Village Amaur is situated on the side of Lower Ganga Canal on the Raod Sirsaganj-Kaurara and is known for its fertile land and potato crop, which is considered to be the best in India.

It is one of the old village inhabited by Muslims coming from background of julahe(weavers) community. Later on Rajput Zamindars took over the reins and purchased large pieces of lands because land was very fertile and with fine means of irrigation. As is evident there had always been tussle in between the Rajput families for supremacy and in this process, the village has seen migration from nearby villages as important and powerful zamindars supported the migrants. Today, one such migrant family from a near by village Bhadari enjoy decent life and have constructed pucca houses and have had the honor to serve the state govt.

There are families famous and belonged to important clans of Rajputs. Some of the families came and settled as far as Jaiselmer(Raj), Karauli(Raj), Hathras/Aligarh mainly belonging to Jadon, Jadaun, Sengar, Tomar and Chauhan clans. 

Today, it has become heaven for potato growers and complete mechanization has lead to higher farm produce. Once famous for all sorts of agricultural products and markets expanding up to Iran/Iraq/Afghanistan. But now everything has centered around on potato/maiz/dalhan crops only. Leading families are now taking recourse to modern technology and bringing new food processing units with eye on export markets.

One of the most important Rajput family whose head was Thakur Hote Singh ji had played very important role in growth of the village. His one of the son Kunwar Nagarjeet Singh ji bought thr righst of Zamindari from British and was a well known personality. He built 'Haveli Amaur' way back in the year 1985 or so.This village is also honored to have a Haveli constructed by Kunwar Mehtab Singh ji eldest son of Thakur Saheb Nagarjeet Singh ji in the Year 1932 with the name “NIRBAL SEAWK SADAN”. Thakur Mehatb Singh ji ‘Desh Bhakt’ was the eldest in the family and his younger brother Kunwar Makkhan Singh ji continued to live on in the village. He expired in the year 1958. His son Kr. Manoranjan Singh took the reins of the zamindari and soon became leader in his own way to bring in potato farming from far off regions of Bihar. 

Kr. Manoranjan Singh ji participated in the freedom moment of India and was popularly known as Babuji. He was active member of Indian National Congress and took keen interest in over all development of the village. Soon Potato farming caught the imagination and became major cash crop of the region. Now there are many Cold Storage established in and around for safe keeping the potato yield.

Kr. Saheb expired on 1^st March, 2010 after brief illness.                                                   

His sons Kr. SPSingh, YPsingh and VPSingh have constructed 'Chhatri-in Red Stone' in his honor.

There are many other important families still living in the village and earn their livelihood.

Village Amaur has a mix of population of Rajputs migrated from erstwhile Jaisalmer Estate(Rajasthan) and has roots with Karauli Estate in Rajasthan. Apart from Rajputs there are other communities’ especially belonging to weaker sections of society? But all live in harmony and enjoy good relations.

Amaur Village Panchyat is formed of adjoining villages Patsui , Nagla Meer and Nagala Jiwan and is part of Madanpur Development Block.

Village Amaur has a Post Office and a number of Schools  and a Govt. Intermediate College for Boys and Girls.

The economy of the village is vibrant and people are enjoying decent life style.
