OverView of Bahuri
The very first civilisation was the river valley civilisation and the people used to settle along the river. The rivers were not only the source of water and place for social and spiritual activities but also served as route for transportation.This Village is situated on the Bank of river Yamuna. This villages along the rivers was the marketing centre named as Bharamau was a market centre dominated by the Meha community during the Muslim period. The Bhadoria Rajputs attacked the Village and taken over from the Mehs under the leadership of Mr. Hira Singh . Later on the Mehas attacked and took the village. Again after a ffew years the Bhadoria attacked the Mehas and took over the village from them. Then it was renmamed by them as "Bahori" meaning thereby taken again. As the time passed the Bahori became Bahuri.
The Village was well planned and was divided in to five parts namely Garhi, Ramgarh, Raipura and niche Bahuri. Garhi means the small fort and the Kshtriyas used to reside there. Ramgarh was the place where Brahmins used to live. Some of the Kshtriyas and some othe caste people used to reside in Raipura and the Sceduled caste were inhabitated towards the river bank in niche Bahuri. There was a very good temple of Lord Shiva and godess Durga at Am ghat near river bank. There was social coherence in all the sect of the society.
People used to go for evening walk along the river and for various other activities, but now the River Yamuna has got polluted very badly and water is not potable. During the problem of Docait infestation the Scheduled caste migrated from their inhabitats to the agricultral fields for safety reasons and now the area has been allocate to PAC for fire training named Chand mari Kshetra.
The Coherent society has now getting disintregated due to differences in village Panchayat Elections. The Common enjoyment of Festiwals of Holi, Dasahara and Rakshabandhan is also the tale of the past days.
