Takkalla Palli is very old villlage in Tadpatri Taluk in Anantapur District, Andhra Pradesh State. Its commonly written as Thakkalla Palli. This village exists from before Independence . The village consists of all the communities and castes. Its basically depends on Agriculture and related activilites. During 1985, an Elementary school was started/shifted in to government buildinng for providing good primay education.
In this village, there are two old temples namely Sri Venkateswara Swamy temple and Sri Rama Temple. Recently, both temples are renovated with the public contributions. The villagers are celebrating the grand festivals like Ugadi,Sriramanavami. During Sri Rama navami festival, good procssion of god idols throughout the village till late night with crockers & bhajanaas. There are some more temples like Peddamma Goddess Temple in kota area of the village. Apart from the above, there is one Dharga about 0.5 km away from the village. Every Moharam festival commonly known as Peerla Pandaga, public goes to Dargha with sugar or jaggery as prasadam. This is the festival celebrated by all religions people Hindu, Muslim.
Earlier, this villalge was in Darmavram Legislative constituency in Anantapur Dist. At present, Takkalla palli village is in Putlur Mandal, Anantapur District, AP. and part of Singanamala Legislative Constituiency and Hindupur Parliamentary constituency.
The village is predominantely depending on Agricultural & allied activities. The people are mainly doing Battayi (sweet lemon/orannge) gardens, Sun flower, Grounndnut and other crops. In other allied activities the people are depending on sheepery, goat rearing, animal husbanndary etc.,
In recent panchayat elections Mr. Maheswara Reddy P has been elected as Grama Sarpanch of this village. Many of the villagers have completed their primary education at elementary school and grown up very well and good number of people have became Teachers, Bankers, Software engineers and few of them settled in abroad and major cities in India. Now ThakkalPalli is growing well and well connected Roads, water supply and LED lights in the village streets and people are living happily within their income sources. In this current year, most of the people sowing cotton crop in their respective fields and giving good yielding. Recently Grama Sachivalayam also opened to serve the people of the village.
