Sarai kewat was established by a group of people who used to live in lagdharpur.It was established in year 1850 by Shri Gopal Mishra and few of his people.They moved there,because they were not able to manage their land therefore they moved in sarai kewat,which was also known as "Chak".After 1900 it was managed by Shri Ram Narayan Mishra and his father shri Ramsumeer Mishra.currently the Karta of the family was Shri Amarnath Mishra(son of Shri Ram Narayan Mishra).
