Lugasi was an erstwhile princely state of India , the family is an offshoot of Panna royal family . The great Maharaja Chhatrasal's eldest son Hardi Shah succeeded him in Panna and Hardi Shah's third son Salam singh was granted the estate of lugasi and became the first ruler of Lugasi . Salam Singh's son Diwan Dhiraj Singh received a sanad from British Government . Three generations later Diwan Sardar Singh(Ruler of Lugasi) who was loyal to British Government was granted a khilat , the privilege of adoption and title of Rao Bahadur at Cawnpur Darbar and  Diwan Bhupal was last Ruler of lugasi State.
