Kumbhan was founded by Dayalji Karshanji Vakil. He was associated with king of Bhavnagar maharaj Bhasinhji. There is a " Vakil's House still standing in the center of Kumbhan. His son Ujamlal prospered Kumbhan to become prosporos village by planting mango trees. He also build Kumbhnath temple.
