Ramnagri is located 8km away in the south side of District Shopain and 23km from Kulgam in the west side. It is surrounded by beautiful gardens.A big macdommised road is playing in the center of village from Shopain and goes to Kulgam Via Reshinagar and many link roads from the main road to Kangiylar via Gadipora,Main road to Sadow and main Road to Vehil etc. It is a big Halqa in Shopain District.There is a big pond in the middle of village known as Dangsir.There were hundreds of such ponds around the village but almost ponds were filled and destroyed by some selfish farmers for their personal intrest.A famous Zeyarath of Hazrathi Syed Sikender Simnani,a well known Wali (RA)is located at the top of villaege in Asthan Mohalla. All the people with out any religious caste and create are visiting the Shrine of Peer baba. The famous Waterfall Ahrabal is 4km away from Ramnagri  e of the biggest village in district shopian.There are three schools.1.Govt.High School Ramnagri.It is situated on the upper side of the village just opposite the Holy Shrine of Syed Skinder Semnani RA.and few hundred meters from the maim road. The school has four buildings. Three govt. Buildings and one rented awkaf building.It was upgraded as high school in 2006. Nine teachers ,four masters ,one PEM ,one JA with a Head Master are working in the school. The only school in the district having a bursting role of 400 Students.The school has vast catchment area. It has more than ten feeding Schools. Boys and girls from chek Ramnagri, Merzapora, Amshipora , saidpora, chek Rreshinagar, Chek Masjid. come to recieve education from the school.The school has 11 class rooms,one computer Lab, 1 library, 1 laboratory, 1 CRC, 1 staff room ,1 Office and a kitchen Shed for preparing MDM.Govt. has sanctioned 75 lakh rupees for a new building.The awkaf land on which the school is situated has been transfered to governmint by the local awkaf. 2. Shah-i-Hamdan Institute Ramnagri.It is a public middle school, located on the upper side of the village just few meters away fram the main road ,on the bank of a huge pond called Deng Sir,and just behind the Jamae Masjid. There are 14 teachers working in the school.The institution was inaugurated by Mr.M.H.Tantray ex.Principal.It has a single storied building with 11 rooms.and an over whelming roll of 350 boys and girls.  3. Govt. Girls Middle Schoo Ramnagri.It is a recently up graded middle school for females. It has a small govt. Buildiing with only three rooms insufficient for its enormous roll of 145 girls. There is also a well build kitchen shed in front of the school. It is situated on the upper side of the village in khanday Mollah few yards from jamae Masjid.4 teachers are currently working in the school with Mr. Shabir Ahmad as incharge headmaster. 4.Darul Aloom Ramnagri.It is behind shah-i- Hamdan School where many children go for seeking religious education and manys reside here day and night to memorise the holy Quran, helped by 2 non kashmiri Molvo sabs appointed by the local Awkaf. All the people are peace loving and hard worker. Ramnagri is located 8km away in the south side of District Shopain and 23km from Kulgam in the west side.  The Famous Ahrabal natural Water Fall is 4 kms away from the village. However the area of Ramnagri-Reshinagr cannal (a stream supplies water for irrigation) is much beautiful and attractive

 I am proud and happy to inform all who have some love or attraction with the village Ram nagri that Mr. Zahoor Ahamad Khanday (P.hd)S/o Mr. Mohammad Yaqoob Khanday R/O Ramnagri has brilliantly qualified the KAS (Kashmir Administrative Service) Combined Competitive Examination,2010 conducted by Jammu and Kashmir Public Service Commission and became the first KAS from Ramnagri Shopain and made a history.We all pray for his brilliant future and hope that he will do the best for his village,state and Country. The people of Ramnagri with out any caste, create and religious congratulated him and prayed for his long life and good future.Mr.Zahoor Ahamad Khanday is born on 16th of March 1980 in Ramnagri Shopain and started his basic education up to middle from Govt,Middle School Ramnagri ,matric from Govt,High School Vehil and 10+2 from Govt,Higher Secondary School Shopain.Later he completed his B.sc from S.P.Collage Molanna Azad Road Srinagar in the year 2001. He has completed then M.sc Zoology from Kashmir University in the year 2003 and Finally done Ph.D. in Zoology from Kashmir University in the year 2011.He is very simple, well versed dedicated,humble,honest and hard worker boy.His father is a Govt lecturer who is counted as one of the best educationist of the area.
