Katgaon is a village situated in Bhaba Valley of Kinnaur District in Himachal Pradesh. It is a village Panchayat also. Katgaon is known for the Temple of Mahadeo. Katgaon is approx. 205 Km away from Shimla and apprx. 80 Km away from Rampur. The 16 Km road to Katgaon diverts from NH at wangtoo. The village is spread in two parts one on the left bank of Bhaba Khad( a tributory of river Satluj) and on the right bank of the same river. The left bank katgaon is old village and the right bank katgaon is new. The govt. offices including school and hospital are situated on right bank katgaon. A guest house of H.P. State Electricity board is situated at Left Bank Katgaon. The People are Hindu by religion but some people follow the Buddhism. The people are very cooperative and friendly. There is a small playground in Left bank Katgaon, where some clubs organize the cricket and other tournament. Apple is the main source of income of the people. Agriculture and horticulture are the livelihood. People speak kinnauri in their day to day use in home but hindi in outside their houses.
