Dehalwin (Dehlwin/Dehlu) is a small village in Ghumarwin Tehsil of Bilaspur District in Himachal Pradesh. The word Dehalwin came from Dehali which means doorstep or threshold. The village is located at the near to Seer Khad (River) which accomplished water facilities of Dehalwin as well as other nearby villages. The Village is divided into two groups of houses, one is known as Oarali Dehalwin and other one is Parli Dehalwin. Oarali Dehalwin is accommodating about 40 houses and Parli Dehalwin about 25 houses. The total population is about 500 enveloping different community groups such as Rajput, Brahmin, Bania and Shudra. The village presents a great sense of unity in diversity. The village is struggling to get a road for the last couple of decades. The Postal pincode of Dehalwin is 174027 and post office is Gahar. It comes under Gahar Panchayat and has a police station at Bharari (sub-tehsil). The village has a beautiful temple located at middle of the Oarli and Parli Dehalwin. Historically, resident of Dehalwin are Rajput and were soldiers/worriers. It has been said that Dehalwin people were originally come from Rajasthan about 6 7 centuries ago. They found location of Dehalwin at bank of Seer Khad appropriate for their horses which they ride during wars. It is located 25 KM towards west from District head quarters Bilaspur, 12 KM from Ghumarwin. 110 KM from State capital Shimla.
