Lord Suryanarayana temple has been built on the banks of fresh water pond, which is also a place for lord Siva and lord Subrahmanyam temples. People say the place is so unique that we rarely get temples facing east, with a pond in front and smashan (cremation ground) on north side of lord Siva's temple. In addition, the newly built lord Suryanarayana temple is the one among very rare temples with these unique surroundings. Rathasapthmi is celebrated every year with great funfare in this village with abhishakem,kalyanam and a unique tepostavam .The prasadam payassam for rathasapthmi is prepared in unique way by all the villagers will pour in a huge bowl cow milk, add jaggery and same is cooked with help of cow dung cakes and the whole payasam is distributed to all as prasad
Lord Siva temple is a historical temple which is renovated at the beginning of the 21st century.The temple is built by Nuzvid zamindars and is very old the whole structure is built by stone and the architecture is a marvel. Karthika Masam and Shivaratri are celebrated very well . Because of its heritage and historical significance, the endowment department has taken over the management of the temple which overseas its operation with the support of local community members.Though taken over by endowment department the temple is maintained mostly by the village people. Recently the villagers have erected a huge pandal covering the subrmanya temple, shiva layam and Surya temple costing more than 10 lakhs this was contributed by the whole village
Apart from devotional significance, the village is the place for two irrigation projects, Polavaram and Tallapudi. Because of these two projects, the village became famous. All this could possible with the sacrifice of all the people who lost very significant portion of fertile agriculture land and many more memories linked with the generations of their families.
Earlier, the village used to be recognised with a very small village called Nallamadu, which is nearby. Through this National recognised Polavaram project, the Village has got its name known around the project, especially the solar power plant commissioned by chief Minister recently.
