Many of us in Gujarat know about and hear about this village. Andej is located near sanand,Ahmedabad . It is a very historical village since the 13th century. There are many historical places in this village like 700 year Lord Shiva and Gam Maata(Mother of Village) Shri Andey-Kalika Devi Temple. The name of Andej was came from the name of the first person of Rabari Community whose name Anada(Anda) Ulava. So he gave the name of this village Anadej and also in India people can very spiritual about land and mother land so he called the village as a goddess Andey Maa.

     In Andej also a Nag Devta's(Gogaji Maharaj) 1800 years old temple which is called "Gogavadi". There is a 1800 years old Vakhdi(one type of tree) also you can see there. The main person of this temple is late Mahadevbhai Ulava and now their son Kanubhai who are come from Rabari Community.

In the past before freedom of India Andej was a last Village of Ahmedabad District and it was under the rule of British Company Sarkar, so in Andej there was an one check post and also some parts of this chcheck post also available now and you can see this.

   This village was made by Rabari but after Rabari could take one men as a gaurd of Village who was a Vaghela but after some time he converted in Islam and he became Muslim so now you can see Muslim majority in this village and also the  some Muslims of this village write their surname Vaghela. 

The main business of this village people is Farming and animal herding and milk-dairy business . 

The population of this village is around 4000.
