Kanadar is biggest village of vijaynagar taluka, its surrounded by villages of Bhiloda taluka, but as it was largest village of princely state of Vijaynagar state before independence, it was included in Vijaynagar taluka. Kanadar is famous for large mahua forest. Mahua flowers are used to make high quality wine by local people. Literacy rate of Kanadar resident is very high. Numerous residents of Kanadar are employed in govt. Jobs all over Gujarat and also in various parts of country. Most of the people are hardworking and have served in Indian army in past and many are working at present. There is one bank Dena Bank in Kanadar along with its ATM. Kanadar also has a well managed co-operative dairy, which is attached with Sabar Dairy , located in Himmatnagar. Kanadar is divided into 2 parts by Hathmati River which passes in north to south direction. Kanadar has good health care facilities too, it has govt PHC centre where a MBBS doctor is available, also there is a senior experienced doctor practising in CHAUHAN Hospital, located on Kanadar to Chorimala Road. CHAUHAN Hospital is a 10 bed hospital with mbbs available 24hours for treatment. There is a ayurvedic centre, where bams doctor is posted. Kanadar also has one bams private practionior near primary school. One GNM male nurse also provides treatment to people of village. Kanadar is native place of many MBBS and MD doctors who r working in different parts of Gujarat and India. Kanadar had a prominent place in political field too, having good leaders like Rupsinh Gameti, who served as president of vijaynagar taluka and Roopsinh Chauhan, a retired Police Inspector, he worked as chairman of Vijaynagar Taluka panchayat. Shree Bipinbhai Gameti son of shree Rupsinh Gameti who was president of Vijaynagar Taluka Panchayat, is currently Delegate ( member of Taluka Panchayat) and in last Assembly Elections he contested Assembly elections for 3rd time as AAP party candidate, he secured 55000 votes, in close fight he came third, He divided local votes so the other Local candidate a BJP leader lost by 5000 votes. Dr Tushar Choudhary son of ex Chief Minister of Gujarat, won this seat. Kanadar Milk dairy affiliated to Amul dairy Himmatnagar, procures milk from kanadar and surrounding Villages. There is a co-operative Society also in kanadar from where Subsidised Food grains and manure is sold. Most prominent people of Kanadar are Shree Bipinbhai Gameti, Shree Shailesh Katara (Husband of current Sarpanch and Ex Sarpanch himself). Shree Satishbhai Bhagora Ex Principle of High School in kanadar, Dr SidhdhrajSinh Chauhan, Ex Lecturer BJ Medical College, and his Mrs AshaRani Chauhan a Computer Engineer from New Delhi, who has been working abroad since 2001 and currently working as IBM consultant in Germany. Shree Prakash Chauhan is working in CU Shah College Ahmedabad as Professor of Chemestry Dept. Last but most prominent resident of Kanadar is Shree Mahendra Sinh Chauhan ret IAS.
