Chamlasa was a Thikana under kota before independence. The last Maharaja of Chamlasa was Captain Maharaja Zorawar Singh ji who fought in the 1st world war for British Indian Army and was awarded IDSM. He was amongst the few Indian commanders to be posted at Buckingham Palace before returning to Kota where he was head of the infantry core. He was succeeded by his son Maharaja KALYAN SINGH ji who was a well renowned personality in the area near by and beyond because of his kind gestures to raise peoples voice. After his passing Maharaja Rajrishi Singh ji was crowned the king who is a renowned Criminal lawyer and lives in the city of Jhalawar. His son Kuwar Abhigyan Singh ji is a wildlife photographer and runs homestay at Chamalsa
