Gopal Nagar is a flood affected area and it almost becomes isolated during that time. Boats both big and small are the only means to move anywhere during the flood time. As its name suggests main occupation of the villagers is animal husbandry and agriculture. A very small percentage of people is in government job such as army, police, railway, banking and teaching . Quite a large number of people work on field both as hired and as their own. Some people may be engaged in private jobs too. Literacy rate in the village is comparatively low as there is only one junior high school and no inter college in such a large village having population of about nine thousand people . As a result the boys have to go six or eight miles away across the river for their study. Girls remain uneducated . People make their purchasing from nearby markets which are also at the same distance. There is no transport facility to reach the place. There is also no hospital in the village. There is a permanent police chowki and a central bank branch in the village. People belonging to all castes live here, but majority of them are backwards mostly Yadavas. It is situated on the bank of the Sarayu river. Being a border village it is a sensitive place for crime. With modern development it has been electrified and connected with pitch road. But there is still a lot to be done to improve the living condition of the villagers. Life here is very hard and people have to struggle for it.
