Important  temples are  Angaalamman temple  and Drowpathi Amman temples.Grand festival of  'Theemidhi  thiruvizha'  will be celebrated in every year in the tamil month of maasi (February) New moon . Thousands of people from nearby villages and districts come and take part in this festival.

Main occupation  of the people are agriculture and silk saree weaving.Rice and sugarcane are the major crop cultivated here.silk weaving is a cottage industry here.G

The  village is well connected to pondicherry and villupuram  by frequent  buses.

 

Though  government primary and high schools are availabe  in the village, the  school buildings

are in poor condition.
