Patti Brahmanan Village

In my childhood I had been to this village several times between 1965-75. This used to be a very small village with 25-30 brahmin families only. So the village was called Patti Brahmnan. The natives who were farmers, were very simple and honest. The fields were irrigated with Rahat and Tube well by Punjab Irrigation Deptt. There were no schools, roads or electricity in the village. There was only one very small shop to sell goods like Bidi,match box, salt,onions, potato, etc. But still children from this village used to go to Mahauti and Patti Kaliyana schools on foot in chilling winters and summers. There used to be plenty of wildlife viz Siyar, deer, rabbits and even hyneas in fields at night. The people led a tough but simple life. I have not been to this village since 1975. But some of my relatives still live there. Of course, the things might have changed drastically now !

But innocence and simplicity of people must surely be missing now.
