As per the stories told by Old people from this place we came to know that Kukkalapalli is named after one of the kinkg who visited this place in the olden days. Kukka (in Telugu) means Dog. Once upon a time a King (Name is unkwown) is trying to visit this place on his horse. A group of dogs protest his entry into thisvillage. At that time King thought there were more number of Dogs are living in this village than the people and he called this village as Kukkalapalli. Kukkalapalli is the village which is one of the major panchayathi in Yadamari mandal.Now this palce became one of the Ward after establishing Chittoor Municipal Corporation.
