One day I asked my father about the history of our village name.He told me that the word pathuria is composed of two words- 'pathu' and 'ria' in bengali and assamese which means rocks or stones and ria for 'rishi'.Combination of these two words 'pathuria' means a rishi doing 'tab'-'jab' sitting on a big stone.These things reveals that at the early time a 'rishi' used to do 'tab'-'jab'sitting on a stone and which became a reason for our village name Pathuria.Thank for reading....
