Jaurasi is small village-cum-town. It comes under the jurisdication of Gram Panchyat Jala Jaurasi which comes under Chaukhutia Tehsil of Almora District. It is located 80-90 km north west from District Headquarter Almora. 425 km from India's capital DELHI. It is centrally located top of hill between two Blocks of Chaukhutia and Syaldey and as well as between Ramganga and Vinod Riviers.There is no railway Station near to Jaurasi range. However, two Railway Stations at Kathgodam/Haldwani and Ramnagar, Distt. Nainital(UK) are major railway stations with distance 150 km from Jaurasi.
