Parli is situated at the confluence of Kannadi puzha and Kalpathy puzha aka Bharatha puzha or Nila. Kalpathy puzha flows intersecting Parli Kadavath and Parli Chanthapura. There must have been a boat jetty to cross over to Kadavath. Parli railway station is situated on the northern banks of Kalpathy puzha. This track was laid in January, 1888. Mr Logan provides this information in his "Malabar Manual". Once upon a time (not so distant past) Parli and Edathara were industrial hubs known for manufacturing agricultural implements and roof tiles. Now these industries have been shut down or not functioning. Actually the name of Bharathapuzha has started from here. Once this place was renowned for VANIBHAKENDRAM. Before starting the Palakkad Valiya Angadi Parli Angadi was famous.
