It is very beautiful place. Equality is the best effort of the villagers. There is lot of temples in Alapua. The famous tample are MAA Dhaneswari & Swapneswar Mahadev at Alapua sashan. The main festival of Alapua are Durgapuja & Rajaparva. There is a interesting story behind the Anchalika Durga puja of Alapua. In 1968 the family of Dina Pani of Dhumat made the "bisarjan" of goddess Durga in river Brahmani as it was the last puja for their family . They made the 'bisarjan' without separating the wooden stand (Medha). The notable man of Alapua late Bhagaban Biswal saw the "medha" was floating on the middle of the river. He himself without any remembrance jumped into the river,which was almost full in flood water and a steady current was there. But the god is almighty who gave such courage to him and Bhagaban by swim brought the Medhs to the bank alone by towing with his napkin (Gamuchha) . People were calling as a mad to Bhagaban at that time. But the actual spiritual Power was with him, who alone not only brought the 'medha' from the river, but also carried alone on his shoulder and established on Talapadia. Later Mr. Bishnu Ch. Dhal, Mr. Bansidhar Nayak, Mr. Jayram Nayak, Mr. Bishnu Bihari, Mr. Indramani Jena & Hari Sethi formed one committee and started Durga pooja on 1969. This Durga pooja gave an identity not only Talapadia But also whole Alapua. Now a days Talapadia is the main market for all the Dhoya community. There are several Durga poojas from Anysipur to Amrutamanohi. But the Durga pooja of Alapua has one separate entity. One free Opera is staged for 3/4 nights just after the Dushera. Now a days due to the nastily politics the Opera is stopped but the Pooja is celebrated in a great reverence. Each year the people from any community comes forward so motto to donate the entire Puja expenses with the idol apart from the villagers' individual subscription. The retired teacher cum veteran poet Mr. Bishnu Charan Dhal is still the main patronage of the Anchalik Durga Puja of Alapua. But it is regret that, there is no any momentum of late Bhagaban Biswal, the founder of the Ancalika DurgaPuja of Alapua.
