As a local man, I am so
overwhelmed and have great pleasure writing this article about my village
"Khun Khun Khurd".
History:
It is said that one man called 'Neka Singh' who was the youngest
among his six other brothers in his family. He was a very strong man but
illiterate and honest. One day, he had some misunderstanding with his brothers
and he left his actual village, Mendipur khun khuna near Hosiarpur. He then
migrated to Khun khun kalan near khun khun khurd where he made more than
thousand acre of land as his boundary. He was a big landlord and
Mukhia (president) of the village. He kept one man of saini caste as his revenue
clerk (Munchi) to deal with official matters regarding land, income and
agriculture. But later on, his munchi cheated him and the munchi registered all
the land on his own name. Neka Singh did not aware of all these mischievous
activities. After many years, when he came to know that he was cheated, he beat
the munchi and in angry mood, forgave him and he himself left that land and
village, i.e., Khun Khun kalan and went 3 km far from khun khun khurd and
established a new village which is called “Khun Khun Khurd” holding 250 acres
of land that’s why khun khun khurd is called, “Neka-dea Khun Khuna” because he
was Neka (younger) in his family.
