About and History Of Altawa


It's a very old village, Its formed before independance (1947) of india. It belogs to Rajasthani culture (basically Marwari). Before independance it was under Jodhpur riyasat. The economy of the villegers is agriculture.

This zone of the district is renound for supply of  Oxes for traditional way of doing agriculte, Those days villgers use to supplying these oxes to other state of India . Now a days it's not much more populer.

Its one of village of makaran mundal. This Makaran mundal is world renound for marbal supply throughout the world. The marbal is availabe in various grades, but white marbal is best of one.

Near to Altawa around 12km distance there is a mountain called Bhakri, is resource of Tungustan. 

There is a place approx 40km from altawa, having large source of salt-water, where Indian govt. has established sodium production plant.

Approx five km distance there is palce called Banka Patti, (peoples are getting bend & joint pain problem) hence name of teh town is banka patti. This is a biological disorder bacause of usage of  heavy salty water containing lot of Floride in water.
