VILLAGE LADHA MUNDALadha Munda is the village in Srihargobind Pur Tehsil in Gurdaspur District of Punjab State, India. It is located 43 KM towards South from District head quarters Gurdaspur, 17 km from Srihargobind Pur. 205 km from State capital ChandigarhHistory-The village was established more than 300 years ago by the founder named Ladha. Ladha came from District Ludhiana of Punjab as he was allotted large portions of land in the village. He had four sons of which the village was divided into four different Pattis namely Ladha Patti, Patti Ramdev, Patti Warso and Patti Nathu The descendents of all the four pattis form extended families in the village.Village political system-The political system of the village is governed by the village panchayat. Lambar family of the village forms the major political activities. From the family and the descendent of the Ramdev Patti, SARDAR MIAN SINGH ATHWAL, was the ZAILDAR in the British rule who had a major role in forming the Government School of the village with assistance of Sardar Malak Singh of village Wheela.SARDAR PYARA SINGH ATHWAL, remained Sarpanch of the village for about 25 years. His nephew Sardar Gurdial Singh Athwal remained Sarpanch from 2008 to 2013.Sardarni Malveen Kaur Athwal wife of Sardar Gurdial Singh Athwal won 2003 elections with flying colours and had the Honour to become the FIRST Lady Sarpanch of the ever in the History.Developement-The village is well developed with fine roads and streets. There is a good network of solar system lights throughout the village. People of the village are motivated to develop the area and have contributed to form the school building.Water supply is excellent with a newly built water tank and water supply system.People-People of the village are mainly into farming and agriculture business. However Agriculture graduates have served in positions such as ADO(Agriculture development officer)-S. Santokh Singh Athwal, Teachers- Randhir Singh Athwal and Parkash Kaur Athwal and Agriculture inspectors- S Surjit Singh Athwal.
