Panjaur is situated on the bank of Bist-Doab canal in between Panchata and Kot Fatuhi, 6 Km away from both, with a population of 3700 and is spread across an area of about 2000 acres. The six Gurudwaras and three temples in the village speak of the religious nature of the inhabitants. The enthusiasm for education is evident from the fact that the village has a government elementary school, a high school and two English medium schools. Many students from these schools have achieved worldwide distinction as doctors, engineers, lawyers, teachers and civil servants. The village can boast of a charitable hospital, a dispensary and a veterinary hospital. There are two banks in the village- Hoshiarpur Central Co-Operative Bank and Punjab National Bank.Late 1008 Sant Baba Hari Singh Naiki Wale is one of the famous religious personalities of the village. Gurudwara Naiki Sahib in the village Panjaur and Gurudwara Harisar in the nearby village Mananhana are built in Sant Ji's memory. A wrestling tournament "Dohre Bharat Kesri Kushti Muqable" is organized every year on March 11, 12, and 13 on the death anniversary of 1008 Sant Hari Singh Ji Naiki Wale. This wrestling competition is for both boys and girls. Wrestlers from all over India and abroad participate in this tournament, which offers attractive cash prizes. The charitable hospital in the village is also in the name of 1008 Sant Baba Hari Singh ji.One can feel a vibrant sporting atmosphere in the village which has two football grounds and a stadium with facilities like gym offering free service. The people of Panjaur have always been known for exemplary love for their motherland. We seize the opportunity to salute the sons of the soil who took part in the national freedom struggle. The village still fondly remembers S.Rajja Singh an I.N.A. (Azad Hind Fauz) soldier who fought against the British.
