I lived in mehatpur vilage from 1956 to 1959. It was a very remote village. Those days there was no medical and transport facilities. You cud use on bivycle. Also there was no middle or high school. There used to be a radio kept in the community centre.

Please visit this village now. You will really love it. It has now two big hospitals. It's only 1 km from State Highway with bus service to Amritsar/ Hoshiarpu/ Jalandhar/ Ludhiana/ Chandigarh/ Delhi. Most of the population now have 2/ 4 wheelers. There is a High School now. Every house now own atleast one TV set.
