In the late 1800s, the Raja of Kasmanda, shifted his residence from Kasmanda to Kamlapur. He made a number of Temples dedicated to Shri Krishan Bhagwan, Shiv ji and the Kul Devi, Khasti Devi. He also put up a Sanskrit Maha Vidyalay. The next Raja started the Raja Suraj Baksh Singh Inter College and constructed the huge Mitra Bhavan Palace. He also started a Bazzar and a Mela dedicated to Sati Mata.
