Now a days Tung is became famous for HANUMAN TEMPLE. There are two Annachatra in temple which provides free food to devotees at every Saturday morning and evening.

Tung is a recently and very thoughtfully settled village. The roads are wide enough and meets at 90° to each other at every corner. Tung has also won "Sant Gadage Baba Gram Swachhata Abhiyan Puraskar" and hence it is also known as Gulabi Nagari, But now a days there is no cleanliness is found in town.

Tung is settled near to the Krishna river. Tung is at high altitude from the Krishna River and 554 meters above from sea level, So it is called as "Uttung"(means Tall) in marathi language and it become Tung.

In Tung, majority people dependent upon the sugarcane, vegetables, flowers, etc agriculture. Hence it gave major role in the movement of Shetkari Sanghatana by Sharad Joshi like rasta roko, uposhan and other andolan. Also new generation is doing services in cities like sangli, ashta, pune,etc. So Tung is the prosperous village due to Krishna and there loving people.
